Reinstatement Request for Dependant on Medical Aid

I am writing to urgently follow up on my request sent on 2 July 2025 regarding the reinstatement of my son, Wayden, to my medical aid policy.

Wayden is 24 years old and was born with cerebral palsy, a condition resulting from German measles contracted during my first trimester. He is both mentally and physically handicapped and entirely dependent on me for daily care and medical support. Despite this, he was removed from my policy when he turned 24 due to adult age classification. I formally requested that Wayden remain listed as a dependent child under my medical aid, due to his disability and the severe financial strain caused by paying adult premiums. To date—11 July 2025—I have not received any acknowledgment, feedback, or guidance on the appropriate steps forward. Currently, I’ve had to place Wayden on Bonitas as a temporary solution, but this has introduced unnecessary administrative burdens and confusion. It is disappointing that a major medical aid provider has not responded, even to direct me to the correct channel or provide a reasoned response.

Wayden’s full dependency on me makes this matter both urgent and critical. If no resolution is offered, I am prepared to escalate this issue to the medical aid board, as I am running out of options and resources. I kindly request a response confirming next steps or the appropriate contact who can assist with this matter.
