poor service

I am disappointment with the recent experience involving my daughter's scan, which cost R2,450. According to the updated benefits, a co-payment of R2,000 was required, meaning Bestmed only contributed R450 toward the total cost.

Given that I have been a loyal Bestmed member for over a decade and currently subscribe to the Pace 1 plan with a monthly premium exceeding R10,000, I find this outcome both unreasonable and disheartening. The limited financial support for necessary medical procedures undermines the value of maintaining such a comprehensive medical aid plan.

This situation has prompted me to seriously reconsider my medical aid provider. A service that covers only a fraction of essential healthcare costs seems to offer limited value for the investment made.I am changing my medical aid at the end of the year

We understand your concerns and appreciate your loyalty as a Bestmed member for over a decade.As per the updated scheme rules and funding protocols, a co-payment of R2,000 is required for specialized diagnostic imaging. This adjustment was communicated to all our members prior to the rules taking effect on 1st January 2025. Unfortunately, in this case, the scheme is unable to cover the full cost of the scan, and you will be liable for the co-payment as stipulated.  kind regards T.
