Non funded list! What?!!

In April 2019, my husband had his gallbladder removed. We received authorization from the medical aid to have this approved. In July 2019, we received a letter from The Glynnwood Hospital that one of the procedures/items were not covered by the medical aid. I then phoned Bestmed only to be informed that there is a Non Funded Item list and the specific procedure is not on that list. I was told to phone the hospital/Dr to see what they can do to assist.

I phoned Bestmed again this morning after receiving no joy from the Dr or Hospital. I was just told sorry for the inconvenience! Bestmed send an authorisation letter and no exclusions were listed. Now I am stuck with an account that I can't pay and all I keep hearing is sorry for the inconvenience!! I have never in my life heard about a non funded list!!

If you want to speak to someone higher up, they are constantly in meetings etc.... probably meetings to see how they can ***** paying members over!! I am so fed up trying to get this matter resolved and walking into a wall the whole time! I need Bestmed to see how they can help instead of just apologizing. I did not give the authorization to the hospital, you did... Now you need to explain why we have never heard of this non funded list!
