Declined to authorize a claim

My son was admitted for jaundice shortly after birth (DOB: 10 June 2019) on the 13th of June 2019 and discharged on the 14th at Muelmed Mediclic. He went through phototherapy. The medical aid refused to authorise the claim stating that the information received does not meet with the clinical guidelines for phototherapy. Muelmed has has handed over the account to debt collectors of R7125.13. I believe its unfair for me to be expected to pay the amount. As I am not a Medical Expert and how was I supposed to know that my son did not need phototherapy. I re**** on a Medical Expert who told me that the jaundice was too high and my son cannot be discharded. How was I supposed to know that its not high enough according to the medical aid and that my son would have healed at home. I request the Medical Aid to assess the matter again and pay the account.
