Beware of Bestmed's double standards and lies!

You may not believe this but it really happened: I investigated my Bestmed claims statements and discovered that Bestmed paid back different amounts for identical treatments that took place on different days within a time span of 2-3 months. When I examined this more closely, I realised that in the cases when the practice sent Bestmed the invoice, bestmed refunded a smaller amount than for cases when I paid the invoice myself. I repeat that I considered only identical treatments with identical codes.

So I inquired with Bestmed by my email, so that I could have their answer black on white and received the following answer: "When we pay a member, the claim is paid in full. When we pay a practice we pay only Scheme tariffs."

This is unbelievable! No hesitation to confirm their double standards!

Moreover, in both cases, Bestmed paid back only a fraction of the actual cost of the treatment, despite the fact that the practice ensured me that they charge only 100% medical aid tariffs - nothing more - and that most other medical aids pay out in full or at least pay out a much larger fraction. So should I really believe what they say: when they pay a member, the claim is paid in full???

Hi please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.

All services are funded at 100% scheme rates, regardless of whether payment is due to the member or provider. Bestmed recommends that members make use of our designated service providers as the scheme has an agreement with them to charge according to scheme tariffs.

That's not true. As written in my review, I have the evidence in written form. The consultant wrote, "When we pay a member, the claim is paid in full. When we pay a practice we pay only Scheme tariffs." That is also what I experienced: Bestmed paid back different amounts for identical treatments that took place on different days within a time span of 2-3 months. I cannot accept such double standards. Unfortunately my work forces me to stay with Bestmed.
Some of the DSPs offer low quality work, which is also unacceptable.
