Bestmed should change their name

The services of Bestmed 22 years ago, before Sanlam got involved, were much better than the last few years. I do not think the name Bestmed is applicable to the service provided by the medical fund anymore.

Last week I sent an email to *** to get authorisation for an MRI Pelvis for this week. I attached two documents to my initial email. The first document was the request by my doctor on the request form of the MRI service provider with most of the information required for the authorisation request. The second document was the previous authorisation letter from Bestmed for me previous MRI Pelvis scan at the same service provider and by the same requesting doctor as for the second MRI Pelvis for which I was requesting authorisation.

The first person from Bestmed who addressed my email requesting authorisation for the MRI Pelvis requested information which I did not provide with my initial email with the two attached documents.

I provided the necessary information that was required and sent it to the email address of the requester of the information, and the email also went to ***. I thought the next email from Bestmed was going to be my authorisation letter for the MRI Pelvis, because all the required information was now provided.

The following email I received from Bestmed was from a second person at Bestmed who requested me information which was provided by me with the first email I have sent to Bestmed requesting authorisation for my MRI Pelvis. I was requested to send the required information to an email address provided by the second person. I sent an email to the provided email address informing the person that I have already provided the information with my initial email and I also sent this email to the first person who assisted with my authorisation request. The email address provided in the email by the second person was incorrect and came back as undeliverable and I got an out of office response from the first person after sending an email to inform the person that the email address provided by the second person was incorrect.

The first person did not respond to the first email which I sent to the second person but responded with the out of office email when I sent a second email to inform the first person that the email address provided by the second person was incorrect and could not be delivered.

Is this how Bestmed is doing business? Yearly the medical aid premiums are increasing a lot, but the level of service we receive is even decreasing more that the steep price increase!
