Bestmed No 1 Medical Aid ??? - If they are, we are in trouble!

I was admitted to hospital on Monday, 11 October for tests last week. A stay of 1.5 days were authorised for various tests to be done. One of which was a MRI. Bestmed only sent authorisation for MRI on 12 October at 8.30 am. Keeping in mind that I only had the MRI at 5.45 pl on Tuesday as it needs to be booked first. . days to approve and the MRI was only done at 5.15pm. Following the results of the MRI the doctor requested that a bone scan be done. Bestmed approved another 1.5 days in hospital but the authorisation for the scan showed as pending on my authorisation. We made our co payment and the surgeon requested that a bone scan needs to be done. Extended stay was authorised ( using same previous dates, I only picked this up yesterday), but due to bone scan not being approved Bestmed sent me correspondence stating that as a result of the bone scan not being approved I am liable for all hospital costs from the 13 to 14th. Keeping in mind that they kept me waiting for the outcome of the panels decision for the bone scan. Or did they want me to leave and then check back in? Btw I discharged myself on Thursday night as soon as I saw the outcome.
