BESTMED MEDICAL AID

When we joined the medical scheme over 20 years ago it was know as Telemed we never had a single problem. The name then changed to Bestmed and we still never had a problem. The a couple of year ago Bestmed changed the structuring and we went in to see them because my son was diabetic type 1 (2 years). We said what was the best option to go for because with the previous options we never had to pay in. Sometimes near the end of the year there were small fees we had to pay. They assured me Pace 2 was the correct option. This year we find that every month I am having to pay in R3k because they are not covering the consumables for the pump. We bought the pump as we felt that seeing this is a like long condition my son is going to have lets try make it not so unbearable with all the injections. Bestmed don't pay for the resorvoirs, sets and sensors These items are needed otherwise you may as well throw away the pump. They seem to want a person to stay with the old technology, but I feel if there is new technology then why can't we use it.
