Bestmed does not care !

Pathetic service from Bestmed ( Debtors/ Theresa) A simple request to receive a breakdown of a statement has yet to come in over 3 weeks despite numerous requests and escalations ! I am unable to move onto a new scheme as a retiree despite being with Bestmed for 30 years ! I am placed at medical risk without any cover currently ! I hope this complaint will make them act swiftly despite numerous calls and escalations from my side !!!

Thanks to Hello Peter, I finally get a response from Bestmed !
Pity Bestmed refers one to a telephone number for follow up queries ....Something which is not answered / involves endlessly being transferred / and then calls being dropped !

Surely a CRM / complaints e-mail should be issued to ensure that complaints are tracked until complete resolution !!!!!

Unfortunately, BESTMED's ridiculousness gets even more ridiculous. On 2 October 2024 (today) they sent me communication that they have notified me a new cover (from the Corporate one when I was working) to an individual one (as a retiree)! But they insist that it is backdated to 1 September 2024. They expect me to pay for the month of September without having to enjoy the benefit of that cover ! This definitely sounds like they are ******ING an ******* payment (more especially from a Pensioner)

I am hoping that they will see sense of that the Medical Aid Ombuds will drum some sense into their heads!

I am assuming that this response is from Lemay Erasmus...If so, I expected a call back at 16.00 as promised by yourself. In any event, your response above and your e-mail does NOT explain how BESTMED wants to charge me for the Month of September even though I did not have the benefit of enjoying any medical aid cover of a month that has passed!

Should that not be acknowledged as an ********* practice of admitting me to a cover on 2 October 2024 and expecting me to pay for the preceding month?
