Bestmed Administration Horrible

I joined Bestmed in 2011 and not long after that I had a gastroscopy. It took me many weeks to sort out that claim with them. I thought that that was just a once off incident and that things would improve. I have had no more claims until now.

On the 27th of October 2018 I collapsed with dehydration after suffering with severe diarrhea. As the local doctor could not administer a drip he suggested that I get taken to the Mediclinic 50 kms away. I was in the clinic for the day on 3 different drips and blood samples were also taken. On the 28th I wrote to Bestmed requesting an authority number. On the 1st of November I received a statement from the Mediclinic so I submitted it to Bestmed as a claim.

About 15 emails from them later, which included a letter stating that the hospital was being audited, I received a letter stating that the Beat series has no casualty cover. 2 days after that I received my 4th claim number for the same claim that I had claimed for once.

How do I describe Bestmeds administration : the wheel is turning but the hamster is not there. Would their staff like to be treated the way that they treat their members : me thinks not. You can write to escalations and get told that you have no cover, but surely all the people before that should have known......they work there.

I am 57 now and have horrible visions of being an old man sick in hospital one day and the doctor telling me that the Bestmed ship has completely lost it's rudder.
