Best MedicalAid but not Human
I originally started my Membership with BESTMED in 1997. I have been a member with them till I was forced to go on our company medical with Momentum.
In Jan 2023, we where informed to obtain our own Medical Aid again, and once again went back to BestMed as from 01 Feb 2023.
I when became unemployed, and fell behind on contributions for 1 month. During the year a DO did not go off as my Bank details changed. I have since then paid an additional value now for the last 3 month, with only having the current month in arrears.
BestMed now REFUSES to assist and accept the payment term of paying the final outstanding balance off over the next 2 x months and active my membership.
I feel that BestMed do not have a personal feelings or empathy for their Members, unless funds are up to date.

In accordance with the scheme rules, failure to bring payments up to date within the stipulated time period may result in the suspension of membership until all outstanding amounts have been received. Arrangements can be made to settle outstanding premiums, and upon receipt of the full amount, the suspension will be lifted.

In accordance with the scheme rules, failure to bring payments up to date within the stipulated time period may result in the suspension of membership until all outstanding amounts have been received. Arrangements can be made to settle outstanding premiums, and upon receipt of the full amount, the suspension will be lifted.

as per your statement: "failure to bring payments up to date within the stipulated time period", how does one make arrangements with BestMed. I have been trying the last 2 month to get a hold of assistance.
Trying to phone BestMed is total chaos. If the line are answered after the umpteenth time, the consultants are not authorized or able to assist with anything. Not to even mention trying to get assistance on the WhatsApp Group.
I have now requested on Friday already a statement of Account, to confirm that all additional payments are allocated, but to NO effect.
i have a son playing rugby for his schools First Team, but clearly BestMed will not assist or accommodate him if he might gets injured. BestMed also does not care as to what happened in the news last week, with play that passed away on the field.
Is there any Legal entity that can be contacted or called, to assist in the discrepancies with regards to medical aids?
