Thank you for contacting Bestmed regarding your child's recent hospitalization. We understand your concern and want to provide clarification regarding the necessary documentation.
While you have been a member for over 12 months, your child has been part of the scheme for less than a year. According to our scheme rules, when benefits are claimed within the first 12 months of membership, we require the following documentation:
- A claims statement from a general practitioner or specialist consulted in the 12 months before joining the Scheme.
- A clinical report from the treating specialist detailing the history of the condition.
- A letter from the member or guardian providing information on when symptoms began and any prior treatment.
- Copies of relevant medical investigations.
This information helps us to assess the pre-existing conditions and determine the appropriate coverage.
Best regards
