Already discharged and still no authorisation

My son needed to be admitted to hospital for a viral infection on 02 February 2015. He was very ill and weak and required a drip as he had been unable to eat for 6 days. The hospital phoned for authorisation and were unable to obtain it. So I tried - only to be told that we needed to prove that this was a recent condition. Really?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I suggested that they look into the claims history to see that no medication or previous treatment had been claimed for this condition. Now, 8 days later, my son has already been discharged and I keep receiving authorisation update after update simply stating that it's pending, with no reason or explanation. I got so sick of these emailed updates clogging my mailbox that I asked exactly what it was that they required. Surely, these requirements should be stipulated - no-one is able to sense what it is that they want. May I say this is not the first time we have battled to obtain authorisation for EMERGENCY medical treatment from Bestmed. I will be changing medical aids as \Worstmed"is super-efficient when it comes to taking members monthly contributions but that's where the \""Best\"" stops."""
