<p>A friend calls me to inform me that his parents are struggling with payments to their creditor. When they show me the statements i find that they are being billed for 2 fridges but they only purchased one and received only one. When i ask them about it i realise that they are clueless about the other fridge and only wanted one. Also his parents are pensioners but their expected monthly installment for their purchase is R1000. </p> <p> </p> <p>I called head office and emailed them to try and obtain answers. More than 30 days later no one has called and when i call im told some one called Melanie will call me back (which she never does) the one time she was available she told me it is busy with the lawyers. I asked for an affordability assessment and that seems to be in the wind. Then the other day i get an email from the call centre requesting that i clarify who bought the fridge(s) and who bought the bed. All they had to do was look at the attachement which i clearly stated was attached and this is after i spoke to Melanie and she told me that the legal team is busy with it. </p> <p> </p> <p>I am starting to get the impression that this company is trying its best to cover its tracks because since i sent through the request the fridge was quickly repossessed and days later a court order was sent to the family informing them that they should appear in court. This is clear ************ of elderly people with little education.</p> <p> </p> <p>Rob Davies was very clear any company that does not carry out a proper affordability assessment is breaking the law. </p> <p> </p> <p>Please make sure you stay away from this company which is part of the Lewis group. I am truly shocked at the heartlessness of people trying to enrich themselves.</p> <p> </p>
Please be advised that an investigation has been concluded and we can confirm that our records indicate the following for the respective accounts:
Mr Ngobeni entered into a credit agreement for the purchase of a base set only, on 11th November 2015. The contractual obligation agreed with this customer was monthly payment of R411.42 over 30 months.
A 310ℓ chest freezer was invoiced for Miss Rhisiba on 5th January 2016, and cancelled on same date.
Miss Rhisiba hereafter entered into a credit agreement for one 210ℓ chest freezer only, on 5th January 2016. The contractual obligation agreed with this customer was monthly repayment of R384.68 over 30 months. The customer was therefore charged for only one chest freezer.
Furthermore, we can assure that credit was granted well within the affordability limits of both customers.
In closing, we wish to point out that, as a registered credit provider, the Company is committed to the ideals and principles of the National Credit Act.

I am in possession of statements (dated 04 / 04 /2016) which clearly show 2 fridges but anyway i got a call today that you have decided to cancel the 2 fridges and transfer the monies paid thus far towards the bed and further cancelled the court order. I wish i could give you a hand but you dont deserve it.
