Bad Admin now costs me R3000 for a R600 item

I was in hospital for a knee op in March 2012. One of several suppliers did stuff or gave me stuff in the hospital. Most cases they take a sticker from the nurse to get all the information about the client like telephone number, address and medical aid information. So I receive a summons for R1513.50 which is now more than double what was originally owed. The attorney then says that excludes their fees that the settlement is over R3000. I phoned the company and they gave their accounting firm. The person I spoke to said they only took over their admin in October 2012 and that the admin was in such a shocking mess the company decided that everything prior to them would be handed over for collections. Well they have the wrong address for me, wrong e-mail address, wrong cellphone number (obviously typo as the last digit is wrong). They have tried tracing me twice but I have never moved and work for the same company, they managed to serve summons at my work and made my PA sign for it. All my information was with the hospital everyone else got paid. Then the very efficient attorneys Grobler Rutsch Attorneys managed to issue the summons with the wrong ID number.
