Bennie's paving T/A Brickworks

<p>We got this company out for a quotation on paving we needed done. Person there is called Bennie ********** 881, he came out twice to our premises to confirm what needs to be done in order to give us a quotation on the work. We both agreed on and amount of which he quoted me for and unlike all the other people, not only did we pay a deposit but we paid the full amount upfront before the work was even begun. For 3 weeks we have tried to get hold of the person after we paid him, and he was not returning our calls neither answering the phone when we called. After the time period we eventually got hold of the person, as he then said he was bitten by his own dog and was in bed sick. (Reason for not answering or returning any calls. After about a week to two weeks he started with the work at my house, the work was done after about two weeks after he said it will take him 3 days to be done. We asked him: as he was only filling up with sand between the bricks if this will not cause any problems, he then advised that this is how he does it for so many years now and it would not cause any problem. During the work he notified me that there is about 5 square meters of bricks short of which he needs to go and collect far from us, Which he wanted R800 more on top of the quotation given at the beginning. Apart from that we have not paid him, as he firstly damaged all our irrigation piping during the proses which we had to replace. Secondly he left the sand to be used over 3 weeks on our grass which was only supposed to be for 3 days, damaging the grass and we had to replace on our expense. Thirdly he was supposed to remove the rubble from the pavement after he was done, but just left it there and we had to pay other people to remove this also for our own expense. After a short while we contact Bennie again as our paving is collapsing and giving in, looking terribly. He then advised that I must give him a call after 3 weeks as he is busy on a site. After a month i tried calling him but there was just no answer. I then loaded a complaint on his phone of which he rep**** that we owe him R800 but not counting the damages he has done to our property and also the workmanship that is falling apart. He is now not answering my calls nor replying to my messages so this has left me with no choice but to load the complaint.</p> <p> </p>
