Non delivery of paid for sign board

<p>Dear Sir / Madam</p> <p><br />RE: Non compliant of Bellville Sign-a-rama in delivering sign board as ordered and paid for by Amulet Bnb or alternatively paying back the amount of R 2613.31. This final request was sent on Friday 7 October 2016 for Tuesday 11 October 2016 by 16:00.</p> <p>Once again I haven’t heard from them.</p> <p><br />I have tried by all means to get this firm to install the correct sign, but get empty promises and mostly just no response. As this is a franchise, I even contacted their head office twice for help.</p> <p><br />This is the timeline of my unfortunate experience:</p> <p><br />27 July 2016 I chose Bellville Sign-a-rama because I would like to support local business.</p> <p>Sent an email detailing the request - a double sided hanging sign board on a sturdy bracket for Amulet BnB. The size must fit a brick gate post with dimensions: 60cm(wide) x 60cm (height above postbox). A photo of the pillar was sent to the designer - Wade - at a later date. Ashley Petersen, the manager, asked for a higher resolution copy of the logo which was sent on 28 July 2016.</p> <p><br />1 August 2016: A quote was sent and accepted for the sign, wall bracket and installation costs. An EFT Payment for the full amount of R 2613.31 was made.</p> <p><br />Further communication continued between Wade, the designer, and us until we chose the final design for the board. That happened in the first week of August 2016.</p> <p>And then….nothing. No communication from them.</p> <p>I waited, realizing that production of the sign board and bracket will take some time.</p> <p><br />When I enquired a few weeks later, the untruths began.”The guys will install it on Monday” When nobody came I was told on Tuesday: “you are fourth in line, they will come today” Wednesday Ashley said: “Yesterday, when I saw the sign was not made to order I had to add the rings and I am busy painting it and will finish it tonight.” We made an appointment for Thursday at ten o’clock for delivery and installation. They did not come.</p> <p><br />I waited until 1 September and then contacted the company head office asking for help.</p> <p>That brought some action.</p> <p>2 September: Signarama installed sign that was too big and too heavy for the brick pillar. The sign was 75cm x 75cm and so heavy that the workers could barely lift and hold it up while the holes were drilled. I immediately noticed that the single bracket was not the same as the example in their gallery (the fish sign hanging from bracket with a triangular support. The wind blew the sign and it moved loosening the roll bolts. I and the guys who installed the sign took photos and sent it to Ashley.</p> <p>2 September: Ashley emailed back: Hi Saretta We can do a smaller sign for the post at no charge if you feel the sign is to big and supply you with post at cost ,let me know if this is okay. </p> <p>Thanks Ashley Petersen Sign-A-Rama Bellville Tel: *** Fax: ********** Mobile : ********** http://www.sign-bellville.co.za/</p> <p><br />9 September: (Copy of Email sent )Hi Ashley, are your company still coming today? He is cc in on this mail , so he will most likely respond to your as well. Regards Tania</p> <p>Nothing - no sign, no contact</p> <p><br />21 September: (Copy of email sent to) Hi Ashley</p> <p>I hope that you are feeling much better and are back at work. We are so looking forward to the new smaller board as everybody mentions the oversized board that hangs skew. Have a good day.</p> <p><br />26 September:Ashley</p> <p>If this sign is not replaced by12:00 on Wednesday 28 September this photo will be sent to head office as well as posted on Facebook and Hello Peter.</p> <p><br />28 September the following email was sent to the Sign-a-rama head office in South Africa:</p> <p>Dear Sir / Madam</p> <p>After contacting you for help with service problems this sign was installed at our establishment.</p> <p>It is bigger than ordered and did not have the support bracket as your "fish" sign in the website gallery has. It immediately sagged and turned skew and Ashley promised a smaller sign with better support. I paid the full amount on 27 July 2016 and two months later still has no sign for our B&B. Please can you help us to get the service we paid for. Regards</p> <p> </p> <p>The guys came and removed the sign board.</p> <p><br />5 October:(email sent to Bellville Sign-a-rama) Good morning We would like to enquire when the sign board would be installed for which we paid three months ago on 27 July 2016.</p> <p><br />7 October: (email sent to Ashley) Good morning As I have not heard from your company I have the following request: Please install the sign board as you promised before or by 16:00, Tuesday 11 October 2016 or pay the amount of R2613.31 back before the same date and time.</p> <p>I paid R2613.31into the account of Sign-a-rama on 01/08/2016. My account detail is: (removed) </p> <p>11 October 2016: No reaction from Bellville Sign-a-rama. No proof of payment was sent.</p> <p>This is what the brick post looks like:</p> <p>Broken brick and roll bolt holes on top left corner where wrong sign board was installed.</p> <p><br />As you can see I have a big problem.</p> <p>As a small consumer I appeal for your help to mediate between this non compliant service supplier who are not delivering, but expect payment before starting on a project.</p> <p><br />Thank you very much for the great service that you deliver to ordinary law abiding South Africans.</p> <p><br />Mrs S S Louw</p> <p> </p>
