Bellville Furniture refusing to pay back my money

Wow, bad business experience with this company. So on the 15th of March 2018, went to Bellville Furniture in Bellville to buy a couch. I chose a fabric that I liked and was told it will take upto 6weeks to deliver the couch. On the 4th week I get a call from Annelene one of their sales personnel and the woman who assisted me with my payment, and tells me that they don’t have the fabric that I chose in their warehouse but they are ordering it and she will get back to me the next day. Next day comes and she doesn’t call, so I call them same thing the fabric is being ordered. Week 5 passes and I make a call and still the same thing. Annelene tells me that my couch will be done on Saturday of the seventh week. I call her on that Friday of the 7th week her story changes to Monday. I’m past caring now. And I told her that she should cancel the order as I want my money back now.

She tells me she is going to call her manager who called me on Saturday morning that the reason they couldn’t finish my couch was because of a strike that happened in Mitchell’splain, I told him that was not the reason. The reason was that they were falsely advertise fabric that they did not have in their warehouse which I paid for and that they did not meet their target delivery time of 6 weeks. Now they are refusing to refund my money. I called this morning a man answered who did not want to identify himself because I told him that I want to formally put a complaint against their company. He also refused to give me any contact details of their legal department or higher management contact details saying that they don’t have.

When I last spoke with Annelene she told that refunds takes upto 7working days and when I checked the money was not reflecting on my bank account. I also asked the the man who refused to identify himself about their refund policy and he mentioned the 7days. Bellville furniture is employing people who are not doing their jobs properly, people who refuse to put customer satisfaction before them, people who do not deliver. Be careful to pay the full amount when purchasing from Bellville Furniture as they will do a run around when it comes to refunds.
