Bellezar Beach Cafe - Spectacular Views and DISGUSTING SERVICE!!

Imagine dining in one of Umhlanga’s beautiful restaurants, with amazing views and a lovely vibe - Well that’s what we expected but we got quite the opposite!! I attended Bellezar on the Umhlanga beach front with my mum, aunt and boyfriend - early celebrations for my mums birthday. Upper class restaurant MY FOOT!!! Upon entrance, nobody was there to greet and welcome you in so we took it upon ourselves to find seating. We were rudely chased and told to “Follow procedure and go back outside” by a lady of the name Wanita. We were quite startled seeing as nobody was around to tell us what the procedure was so how were we supposed to know?? We waited while everything was sanitized (which we appreciated but it would have been better to speak to us as if we were actually human). Once we were seated, we expected the service to get better after the first hiccup. Much to our disappointment, the waitress did the bare minimum. So when it came to payment, our bill came to R250. The waitress, Candice, presented the bill and a voucher with R50 off on our next visit. We chose to give her a tip of R10 as her service wasn’t all that grand. She stopped us dead in our tracks and said “sorry but the tip should be atleast 10% of the bill”. We said we are not obligated to give 10% of the bill as it is regarded as a general rule per a persons discretion of the service received and we did not find the service worth a tip at all - mind you, we said this with a straight face. She told us, “well you can laugh now but when you come back again, you WILL tip me”. Can you imagine our horror at such unprofessional DISGUSTING service? She put back our R10 on the table and took away our voucher. We told her we will not be returning - which we definitely will not and we will be spreading this story further. Customers wishing to have a good time should not receive such pathetic lower class service. For a posh set out, the staff sure make an extra effort to degrade the place.
