The Kingdom resort
My stay at The Kingdom Resort, owned by the Beekman Group, was unfortunately marred by the unavailability of nearly half of the promised amenities. Despite paying the full price for our stay from Monday to Thursday, we were left feeling shortchanged.
The resort's adverti*****ts had touted an enticing list of amenities, including an outdoor movie theatre, a jungle bar, in-room air conditioning, daily room servicing, and a jumping pillow, among others. However, our experience took a different turn.
Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by the gate attendant, and the reception was welcoming. However, the initial positive impression quickly faded. In our room, we noticed the absence of basic amenities like glasses. When we attempted to visit the jungle bar, we discovered it was closed. We decided to give it another try during the daytime on Tuesday, only to find it closed again, both at 1 pm and 4 pm.
To make matters worse, our inquiry at reception about the outdoor movie theatre revealed that movies were only shown on Saturdays, a detail conveniently omitted in the advertising or during our booking process. With the jungle bar and movie theatre out of commission, we were left disappointed that even the jumping pillow wasn't functioning as expected.
The most surprising revelation was regarding the air conditioning. We learned that it required prepaid tickets to activate, despite being included in our room rate. Additionally, clean bedding was not provided as part of the standard service, and any request for it incurred extra charges. On our first morning, we encountered an issue with water pressure during our shower and attempts to address this with reception proved fruitless.
Having a drink at the Acacia restaurant. The drinks were delicious and we had a great time. However paying the bill proved to be a hassle as the speedpoints didn't work.. we were requested to go to the ATM and draw cash to pay the bill. How does the ATM work but the speedpoint doesn't?This is just an additional inconvenience not expected at a resort.
We are still waiting to use the Boma which was also advertised however seeing as the other amenities were not functioning we have little hope of it being open for the rest of our stay
In conclusion, I must express deep dissatisfaction with The Kingdom Resort's false advertising and the fact that nearly 50% of the promised amenities were unavailable during our stay. Charging full price while imposing additional expenses for services like air conditioning that were supposed to be included is unjustifiable. This experience left us feeling quite disappointed and let down by the resort.
