Beekman Canoppies weekness

<p>I have a Beekman canopy on my 2007 Isuzu 300XL long wheel base bakkie.</p> <p>While driving in Namibia I saw that the canopy is moving on the bakkie.</p> <p>I discovered that the *****s in the brackets holding the canopy onto the bakkie were pulled out of the canopy on 3 brackets.</p> <p>Closer investigation shows that the wood used to anker the camopy onto the bakkie were soft (rotten).</p> <p>At the Beekman fitment centre they informed me that they used untreated pine wood to keep the cost of the canopy down!</p> <p>Then Beekman cover the untreted wood with glass fibre and drill 24 holes in it to fit the 6 brackets and inform me that the wood gets wet through the 24 holes ....</p> <p>I find it hard to understand that Beekman are willing to take such a big risk to use untreated wood to secure the canopy to the bakkie - what will happen if the canopy are blown of due to the wrotten wood (and that to save the few cent cost differance between untreated and treated wood ....)</p> <p>So if you want to buy a Beekan canopy, supply your own wood that will not rot in 9 years time inland in Calvinia ......</p>
