Nightmare experience

A nightmare experience urged me to write this review. An order that had led me to be harassed, victimized, and threatened by a person whose items I had unsolicitedly received together with my order from Bee Ware via The Courier Guy. The harassment and threats were made by a Dewald from Hazyview whose order ended up on my doorstep when I got home after an assigned person received my goods by providing a PIN to the courier. I don't know who messed up, either Bee Ware or The Couriers guy. I still don't know who is to blame. It is a he said she said situation and I'm caught smack bang in the middle without anyone taking responsibility and ownership to rectify this untasteful experience

I immediately informed Bee Ware that my items together with unsolicited items were delivered on 16th October. The person receiving it on my behalf would not question the items, but I immediately saw that there was a mistake as I now have 4 full bee hives, a catch box, one super, and a big, box that I did not order.

Bee Ware rep**** thank you for letting them know and that is quite unusual, and that they were looking into it. I left it at that and didn't reply as I thought they would get to the bottom of it and get back to me to schedule a pickup time and date for the items that suit me. On the 18th I was notified by staff that The Courier Guy manually opened our gate and entered our farm. No phone call, no email no WhatsApp, nothing. He just arrived and said he was here for a collection.

The lady who dealt with the courier was given a phone with someone at the other end. She had told this person that the goods would not be released as there was no proper arrangement and that they had requested for them to contact Bee Ware and have them mail me with a list of items that need to be collected at a convenient time, and when the owner is present to clock open and release the goods.

Since then I have not had any form of correspondence from either Bee Ware or The Courier guy to arrange a date for collection or a list of items that I can get from the courier of goods that need to be collected.

Today the 22nd is the first attempt from Bee Ware to follow the right procedure to arrange a date that's convenient for me, followed by a very disgruntled threatening voice note directly in my WhatsApp from Dewald, the apparent owner of the goods.

My personal information, Name, Surname, Email address, and physical address were disclosed to this Dewald person, threatening me with voice notes, saying I would be held accountable and liable if bees stung his workers on his farm because I have his bee hives. My information was shared with this threatening person without my consent and acknowledgment. I honestly am fearful of knowing some angry person is hating on me and has all my personal information thanks to Bee Ware and Courier Guy.

By law: POPIA or POPI Act gives individuals the constitutional right to privacy by safeguarding their personal information at the same time protecting the flow of information. Purpose: The POPI Act or POPIA is a federal privacy legislation in South Africa that aims to protect the personal information of its residents

And:

Section 99(1) of the Act provides that the data subject, or the Regulator at the request of the data subject, can initiate a civil action for damages in a court against a responsible party for violation of the POPI Act, whether or not there is intent or negligence on the part of the responsible party.

This person, Dewald was not informed by Bee Ware about the mishap, I'm pretty sure about that. He was probably told that I didn't want to let the courier collect his items. But yet no one attempted to make arrangements with me. l understand Dewald's frustration and that he probably thought I wanted to keep his stuff. I mean it's quite a large order.

Just FYI - This is called an “unsolicited good.” When you're sent an unsolicited good, you're within your rights to keep them. You have no obligation to send the item back or pay for it. If the company sends you an invoice for the item, you can ignore them.

Nevertheless, I blame Bee Ware, due to the fact, that when I order something and I don't receive it, I'm not going to call the courier, I'm going to contact the company from where I purchased my goods right? They need to sort it out. I mean I did pay R350 for my courier, and I expect this Dewald guy's goods to cost triple that because it's a lot of stuff. If I had been present during the delivery I would have said something, but the person who collected my goods was not told what and how many, just to receive my goods.

Today after Bee Ware finally managed to arrange a date with me, I told them to schedule for tomorrow 23rd October at 4 pm and to inform Dewald. Yet it's evening and my phone is still ringing, and I'm sure this poor raging soul was not informed once again that arrangements have finally been made.

I hope no one else gets the experience Dewald and I received. Oh and Dewald if you read this, don't be going harassing people and threatening them with your untamed temper. If you don't know the story, you'll get yourself in a sea of trouble.
