(I am writing this review on behalf of my mother, Caroline Morgan.) Caroline booked a polymer clay workshop that took place on 12 June 2026 with Tersia from Bee Artsy for herself and her friend. Caroline's friend does not drive. On 11 June - the day before the workshop - Caroline was unexpectedly admitted to hospital with a severe medical condition. Her pneumonia became critical: she developed fluid around her lungs and heart, suffered cardiac arrest during an attempted angiogram, and was placed in an induced coma. She remained in CTICU until 6 August and is still in hospital. Caroline's friend contacted Tersia on her behalf, explained the situation and provided the requested proof of payment. Despite these extraordinary circumstances, Tersia refused a full refund for Caroline's friend and offered only 25%. Tersia also stated that the booking was cancelled a week before the workshop, which is factually incorrect. The cancellation was communicated the day before the workshop, following Caroline’s emergency hospital admission. We understand that businesses have cancellation policies and costs to consider. However, we believe exceptional circumstances such as a customer being critically ill and hospitalised warrant compassion and reasonable discretion. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled has left us extremely disappointed. Potential customers should be aware of the cancellation policy and consider how exceptional circumstances may be dealt with before booking.

My experience with Bee Artsy (Tersia Groenewald) I am writing this public warning with good intention warn and protect other consumers from my horrific experience with Bee Artsy SA. I ordered and purchased a custom decor wooden tray from this merchant, only for it to arrive severely damaged, structurally defective, and displaying completely unacceptable workmanship. One of the eco-resin flower embellishments had shattered into fragments and powder, the nails were visible and damaged the upper part of the tray, to name a few, despite the outer courier packaging(plastic bag not a box) being intact. The tray itself was wrapped in bubblewrap and topped with a 3mm hardboard. Under Sections 55 and 56 of the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA), I am legally entitled to a full cash refund, which is rejected by the supplier. I reported the damage immediately and provided photographs and video evidence. I was then told to sort it out myself with The Courier Guy, which I did and they also advised that, in their opinion, the item had not been packaged adequately to protect such a fragile product during transit. When I attempted to resolve the issue reasonably, the owner launched an aggressive campaign of personal accusations, twisting facts, and distorting our communications. Furthermore, she escalated to using highly profane, abusive language and screaming down voice notes at both myself and my formal legal counsel. Instead of working towards a solution, my request for a refund was refused I was then threatened and told I was going to be blocked from further communication. I was accused of damaging the item myself and of trying to get a "freebie." although I've paid R400. I offered to return the damaged item at my own expense, but this was also rejected via communication through the CGSO . However, the owner flatly refuses to comply with consumer law. I have kept completely immutable records, which have now been compiled into a formal evidence bundle. An attorney who reviewed the photographs and the relevant provisions of the Consumer Protection Act attempted to engage with the supplier regarding the visible damage, workmanship concerns and my consumer rights. According to the correspondence, the supplier responded with profanity and stated that she did not have time for it, showing no respect or responsibility, rather than addressing the issues that had been raised. A formal complaint was already lodged with the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud, where the matter is considered based on the evidence submitted by both parties. Still she twists facts, accusing me of the damage. wanting a "freebie" and being disrespectful to all parties involved. I am sharing my experience so that other consumers can make informed decisions. I encourage everyone purchasing handmade items online to keep all communications, photographs and proof of payment, and to understand their rights under the Consumer Protection Act. This post reflects my personal experience and the evidence that I have submitted through the appropriate consumer dispute process.
