DELONGHI DOLCE GUSTO MINIME

Complaint against Bedfordview Appliance Services, Pino Barecchia, (repair slip no. 0606) this is an approved service centre for Delonghi.

My Dolce Gusto minime was faulty and was handed in to this place for repairs on the 12th May 2017, a service fee of R 150.00 was charged and paid for.

After 2 weeks my niece had to follow up on the repairs and was told the cost to repair would be R 1220.00 !!! what !!! R 1370.00 for repairs including service fee, on this coffee machine that is absurd to say the least. (new pump and pipe as it is blocked – this was apparently the fault that was quoted for)

My niece told them she would let me know the repair costs and would phone back.

I phone again today @ 10h30 to speak to the manager (was told he was busy with a client and that he would phone back) so he can justify this cost, as a new machine depending on where you purchase it is

R 1500 – R 1899.. how can the repairs cost nearly the same as a new coffee machine.

Anyway, the manager Pino, never returned my call, I had to phone again @ 14.30 to be told he is busy and will phone back, I told his assistant/receptionist to make sure he phones me before 15h00 today as I am not a happy client. Pino did eventually return my call, I asked him to justify his repair cost and was told that Delonghi set the prices not him…. Still not justifying the cost, he was so rude when I took him to task about the absurd repair costs and he took offense not allowing me to talk as he just went on and on and on telling me I must not tell him how to run his business and that he is out all day and in meetings that is why he did not phone me back, do you not check in on your business during the day?? Does your business just run on its own with no problems, I think not, if you were so concerned about your business you would not treat your clients with such discontent and you would check in on the office regularly, besides I was told he was busy with clients – not out?. Tells me that the blocking on the machine is a common problem with the Dolce Gusto, really? common problem then he is *********** a lot of clients with the same problem. I would like Delonghi to justify the repair costs and take him to task as a so called “reputable service provider” with Delonghi’s name attached…. Disgusting rude man…!! It’s his business and he is always right.. Oh yes I did put the phone down on him even after telling him I was going to, he did not even hear me say that as he was so busy giving me the “low down” then he still had the audacity to phone me back to tell me I’m rude?

Pino, if taken to task by Delonghi will obviously tell another story but this is mine and true.

I will not repair this coffee machine at this ridiculous price.. and definitely would not recommend anyone else buy one… it lasted 3 months and was used about 5 times and died, unfortunately a gift so no slip for proof of purchase and warranty.

Mrs Zina Spencer

084 **********
