handed over without been contacted

My son enrolled at preschool at the begining of the year and we signed on with beaux-arts PE franchisee. Due to my sons unhapiness at school we stopped the art class around march. There was apparently an amount outstanding, but between then and mid december no attempt was made to contact us despite them having all our contact details. The first i knew of it was when vericred contacted me to demand payment. I contacted the franchisee to ask why this had happened but she was unsympathetic despite having know in march that i had been unemployed since 2014.<br> Due to her incompetance i now have to deal with the collection agency and all their added costs and aggravation.
