Bears Mall of Tembisa - ******* Early Debit Order, Came To My Workplace & Continued Threats

I am lodging a formal complaint against Bears Store, Mall of Tembisa for ******** debt collection, harassment and humiliation at my workplace.

The facts:1. Early debit order that caused the arrears: My contract clearly states the debit order date is the 27th of every month. Bears is debiting my account on the 24th. On the 24th there are no funds, my salary is only available by the 27th. This early debit is what is causing the payment to fail and bank charges. This is Bears' error, not mine. 2. They ALREADY came to my workplace: In February this year (2026), staff from Bears came to my workplace to confront me about this account. I was humiliated in front of my employer and colleagues. This is ******* and against the National Credit Act. 3. Continued harassment and threats: Even after coming to my work in February, they are now harassing me again on WhatsApp saying: “Aowa Lethabo we need the instalment, we spoke about this several times. Or must we pick up all the goods?” They are again threatening to come to my workplace and to repossess my goods. This is completely ******** in South Africa: You cannot debit before the agreed date (27th) - breach of contract and National Credit Act. You cannot come to a consumer's workplace to collect a debt. This is ************ and harassment under the Debt Collectors Act and Protection from Harassment Act 17 of 2011.You cannot threaten to pick up goods without a court order. Under the National Credit Act Section 127, repossession requires a court order. What I demand: Immediate correction of the debit order to the 27th and refund of bank charges caused by the 24th debit. Written apology for coming to my workplace in February and undertaking that it will NEVER happen again. Immediate stop to all WhatsApp threats and harassment. All communication to be professional going forward. I am willing to pay my instalment on the correct date (27th), but I will not be harassed, humiliated at work, and threatened.

If not resolved in 5 days, I am reporting to the National Credit Regulator (NCR), Council for Debt Collectors, and PASA, and I will open a harassment case.

FOLLOW UP - 08 September 2026 - STILL NO AGENT CONTACTED ME AND TODAY THEY CAME TO MY WORK AGAIN

I am posting a follow up to my complaint from yesterday.
Yesterday Bears responded on HelloPeter saying "an agent will be in contact with me".

No agent has contacted me i am still waiting.

Instead, while I was waiting for that agent, today 08 September 2026, a staff member from Bears Mall of Tembisa came to my workplace AGAIN to harass me.

This is now the SECOND time:
1. February 2026: 3 people came to my workplace.
2. Today 08 September 2026: 1 person came again.

I am very angry and humiliated. Bears came to my place of employment and forced me to sign a letter stating "Court Action Imminent". I was put under pressure and intimidated in front of my employer. I signed that letter under duress and ************, not because I agree with it.

Bears, this is what you call customer service? You promise on HelloPeter that an agent will call, but instead you send someone to my work to force me to sign papers?

1. You debit on the 24th instead of the agreed 27th and cause my arrears.
2. You ignore your own HelloPeter promise to call me.
3. You send staff to my work for the second time to intimidate me.
4. You force me to sign court action letters at my workplace under duress.

This is ******** harassment. A credit provider cannot force a consumer to sign court action documents at their workplace through ************.
I demand Bears head office to:
1. Explain why no agent contacted me as promised.
2. Immediately withdraw that forced letter I signed today under duress at my workplace.
2. Give written undertaking that you will NEVER come to my workplace again.
3.Fix my debit order to the 27th as agreed.

I have already escalated this to the National Credit Regulator (NCR) with all evidence including the forced letter.

Bears, do the right thing.
