Family outing - 1st March to 3rd March 2024

It is with regret that one has to inform you of our horrific weekend. This was our first outing post covid, one that we were extremely excited and looking forward towards this long-deserved break. We booked 2 cottages for 12 people. The place was neat, and the view was amazing. Be that as it may, we did not have any electricity for the entire duration of our stay. This was not due to load-shedding. The owner advise us of this issue, however also reassured us that the electricity will be restored by Friday afternoon. Whilst this may have been an issue with electrical lines being damaged, the owner / agent has done nothing to make our stay a comfortable one - it certainly was a memorable one.

Keep in mind the weather was extremely hot and humid. We had bought food to the value of R6000.00. More than half of all the perishables had started to decay and had to be discarded. We had to take ice-cold showers by default, purchase tons of ice to try and salvage some food, keep drinks chilled and kept our vehicles running for hours on end just so our electronic devices could have been charged.

We tried to make contact with the owner/agent to have them assist with a generator / portable lights etc however we were unsuccessful, as our calls have been declined.

We definitely won't be using this agent / owner again.
