MONOPOLY OF FOLIC ACID - Be-tab Pharmaceuticals

I have bought Folic Acid every three months for years and today to my horror, I find the product has gone up by a whopping 400%. I have been told that there is only one supplier to the entire South Africa Market and this is Be-Tab Pharmaceuticals or Sun Pharma. One would think the price would go down because of the increase in demand but because of their monopoly, it has gone up from R21 and a few cents to R84 and some cents. An explanation would be great. This is a product that should be taken by every HIV positive person according to a nursing sister. It is not given at the Public pharmacies, to my knowledge and now it will hinder poorer folk being able to purchase this so as not to damage their liver. I take this daily as I use Methotrexate which can damage the liver and fortunately I am able to afford the product. But this is not on Be-tabs Pharmaceuticals......
