Customers beware, you may not know what you are letting yourself in to...

I am employed at a large higher education institution in Pretoria and we have a BCD office on our premises. That means that we have to make use of the service of this company when making travel arrangements. It will take me hours to report on the shockingly poor service that I received from this office and I cannot waste any further time on describing a nearly year-long journey of trying to receive proper answers on a non-refundable ticket that was issued to me. Most employees at this institution may not beware that they may be issued with non-refundable tickets until they experience a problem, for instance, an unforeseen event that keeps them from traveling. The previous 'team leader' at this office, Mandla, was a jewel, who acted in a professional manner but he unfortunately left. I now have to deal with the current team leader who has also tried to assist me to some extent and the accounts manager, who seems to be always out of the office on urgent business. I have a fairly good understanding of consumer psychology and customer service (the principles involved in these fields) and what I have experienced from this office, would never be acceptable, especially if there is a degree of competition involved for the business, which in this case there is not. I hope that no staff member will have to experience the degree of inefficiency that I have been exposed to.
