ONE EXTREMELY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER - DON'T USE BAYLEYS! Our experience moving the entire contents of our home in Sandton, South Africa to our new home in California USA was terrible. Firstly the packing Team Leader stole a number of items of jewelry - Bayleys accepted responsibility and paid an amount of money in compensation but that came nowhere near to the sentimental valuel. Our belongings were stored at Bayleys, Johannesburg for three years before being shipped to the USA. On arrival there were items of furniture that were badly damaged, a number of glasses were smashed and a significant number of items were lost including eighteen pieces of a large, hand carved marble chess set! It was a nightmare trying to deal with their recommended insurance company claims department. Moving house is stressful enough. Moving house and country adds to the level of stress.
