Make them sign an inspection of your vehicle before leaving it for a carwash
Very bad experience with Baycarwash at Baywest. 1. My car is new (less than 20 000km on the clock) 2. Took it for a wash at Baycarwash 3. When we got to the car the Manager said there is a small problem, they broke the handle of the car and they are prepared to pay for it 4. Then I saw that it was not just one handle that was broken but 2 - I did point it out to them and was told by the Manager that they will pay for it 5. Got a email from the Owner (Charl) who said that they have boards up to state that they are not responsible and that they cannot see on the cctv that they are responsible for the handles breaking (He suggested wear and tear), he also stated as a favor and customer service he is willing to pay R 1000 for the R 2100 that it would cost to have both handles fixed 6. I told him that I am not happy with that and I will expose them and he stated that I must be careful to name and shame
Now I want to point out the obvious:
1. I have a car that is about 20 years old as well and I have never had wear and tear on the handles 2. Charl is also implying that 1x of the handles must have been broken already - I would have know if the car's handle was broken and it was not - and how is that 2x handles are broken at the same time while at their carwash 3. I previously had my car done by them with the protective film that cost quite a bit - and this is the way that they feel it deemed fit to treat customers
My warning to anyone who takes their car to them for a wash:
DO A FULL INSPECTION ON YOUR CAR AND HAVE THEM SIGN THAT AND HAVE IT STATE THAT THEY WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE BEFORE YOU HAVE THEM TOUCH YOUR CAR
It seems now a days if you have a board that says you may not be held responsible for breaking my car then it is okay to do so
