Remax Amanzimtoti : Agent's false investigation report

I experienced poor service from Remax Amanzimtoti. I requested repairs for the air conditioner, oven, and stove. However, the Remax agent allegedly colluded with the owner to neglect these repairs, prompting my relocation. The agent then presented a questionable investigation report, imposing a penalty of one month's rent. I have attached photographs documenting the air conditioner's rusty exterior unit, which a technician confirmed required replacement. Additionally, images of the oven's cracked top glass and the stove's cracked top glass, posing a significant fire risk, were provided. Despite this, the Remax agent insisted that I continue using the defective stove. The agent's investigation report astonishingly claimed that the cracked top glass stove was usable, disregarding the fire risk. Furthermore, the property's dirty walls and rusty burglar guards were noted, and I was subsequently instructed to paint these surfaces. Notably, these issues were acknowledged and documented in the initial agreement. I strongly advise against engaging with Remax agents in Amanzimtoti, as they may prioritize their interests over clients' well-being and safety. Foreigners, in particular, may face exploitation due to their nationality, potentially resulting in deposit withholding upon moving out. As a precaution, I recommend that non-South African-born individuals exercise caution when dealing with these rental agents, as they may use nationality as a means of exploitation. Moreover, Remax Amanzimtoti agents often seem unresponsive to client concerns, displaying a lack of respect and compelling clients to plead for assistance, which is frequently unsuccessful.
