Battery clinic Carletonville - Poor ethics, incompetant staff, Bully CEO.

I had issues where a staff member installed the battery in back to front. He blew the positive terminal; my car literally wouldn't start afterwards. They got it working again, and my car was fine after they pushed the prongs together and said it was normal for it to do this. Then **** about putting the battery in the wrong way when it caused issues five days later, leaving me stranded in Joburg until by some miracle it suddenly started working again. Then during interrogation, by the CEO, demanded to know why I, not a battery installer, let his employee, a battery installer, do it if I was watching him, to try and prove that his employee didn't ***** up.

I took the car for a separate diagnosis before contacting them because I didn't trust the employees after they **** to me about fixing the terminals fuse that they blew in the first place. Before taking it back to them with a confirmed diagnosis. Good thing too judging by the ethics of this company.

I had a thoroughly unpleasant experience with their CEO, Steve, who is an absolute bully. Who spent the entire time interrogating me and telling me off and making me feel like an idiot and aggressively telling me to take him to court, that he's a? Councilmember? Of some automotive industry council. He said I didn't have a chance of winning a case because I got diagnostics done on my car before bringing it back to him and couldn't prove that it was him cause someone else touched the vehicle. And that it would cost more than its worth to take him to court (The damage is about R1500). He had some points, but that just proved to me that he wasn't interested in fixing the problem his staff caused, because I didn't even mention court.

The moment my dad showed up to help me understand what Steve was saying and started aggressively arguing back at him. Steve lost his temper, stormed off and started yelling at his poor employees. Refusing to deal with us, even though he was supposedly going to look at getting his insurance involved to get it fixed, but not anymore. (Parting words)

I feel sorry for his staff. No wonder they are too afraid to admit fault judging by his rather volcanic reaction. Good news is I'm not going to sue Battery clinic for the replacement positive terminal. Thanks for the advice Steve. The bad news is that they have lost my business and everyone is going to know about it.
