Impeccable morals from a small family business.

Located on the corner of Bishop and Old Main Road in Pinetown. I have been using this small family run business for my automotive and security battery needs for many years.

Over the weekend, I decided to have them check out my invertor and battery as the battery was only lasting around forty minutes - as opposed to the usual four plus hours. This was a huge problem for me with the current rolling load shedding. They tested both. The invertor was charging the battery properly, but the battery was poked.

I braced myself to pay for a new battery as I had bought this (as far as I could remember) about eighteen months ago. They looked at a code that they had engraved on the battery and told me that I had bought it nineteen months ago - I wasn't far out!

He then told me that this particular brand of battery has a two year warranty and that they would replace it free of charge. I was shocked in the best kind of way and went away with a brand new battery without having my bank balance assaulted!

I would like to make the following points: 1) I had no receipt. They weren't obliged to honour the warranty. 2) I had no way of translating their code into a date. He could have told me that I bought the battery three years prior, I wouldn't have known otherwise. He didn't. 3) He could have said that (like most electrical products), the battery had a one year warranty. I would have had no reason to disbelieve him.

It is refreshing to see such honesty, Please support this small business, they truly deserve it.
