Bassett North - Outstanding Service

Do you have problems with your current alarm system and/company, I can without any reservations recommed Bassett Alarms (North). WARNING: If your Control Box is mounted in the roof, then it's against SAIDSA By Law which will have your insurance company refuse to pay out.

Following a suspected ******* entry into my neighbours' backyard a week ago, I decided to start using my alarm system again after it gave me many problems. I stopped using the system due to the alarm constantly beeping and I couldn't fix it. Being a security complex - I didn't see the need at the time and advised the landlord.

On 8 January 2024 the day after the incident - I switched the system on again. the same beeping persisted. Long story short, the original company who installed the system for the landlord was no longer in business. I tried their contact numbers and it all said the number no longer exist. This late on a Friday evening.

Thus I was left stranded and needed the alarm system to work for my safety.

Having seen Bassett cars and their boards up with some residents in the complex I called them to help to see if they can reset my pin pad to default and give me a new pin code since it was a standard box. The Control Room supervisor listened to me with empathy and pointed out that I am not a client, but understood my issue. She was very helpful and put me in touch with the technician on stand-by. Note that they assisted me though I was not a client of theirs, and they could have easily turned me away.

The technician telephonically could assist to resolve my issue which tided me over for a night and day. Then with loadshedding the beeping noise started again. I contacted Bassett for assistance (on a Saturday - not their office hours for my query), and also to have a look at the problem to see what the next steps for me was. Not trusting suppliers when they say they will contact me back I didn't hold my breath. In less than 45minutes their consultant called me, came around to have a look and to give feedback.

From the initial observation, to sort me out; it would involve moving the other supplier's box to comply with SAIDSA By Law 5 including rewiring the sensors. That would be adequate, but still leaves me in a situation I'd only get the alarm saying there's an intruder. That means I need to protect myself and could wait a while before the police arrives. Having experienced Bassett's dedication and help though I wasn't a client - I also opted for armed response. I didn't have a good experience with another response provider. With Bassett it's chalk and cheese.

On 15 January 2025, just over one week after the situation - my system is now installed. It is rare that from the issue to resolution to have all done in 1 week.

Bassett cares about people and not just to make a quick buck or exploit a person's vulnerability.
