Warranty failure

So it goes like this.. I have 54000 on the clock, 3.2L Ford Ranger King Cab. Car breaks down 17 Aug. I take it to Ford. I have to hire a car, this is a warranty repair.. Only get authorization yesterday, 22Aug to repair.

Now the interesting part, Ford accepts that it is a warranty repair. However they will not agree to replace the fuel filter. It is agreed this is a warranty repair but I as the client must pay R895 for the new fuel filter..

Where is the logic in this. I have a warrenty for a reason and to be told everything will be sorted by Ford SA but not the fuel filter. Embarrassing..

There is no logic to this at all and embarrassing to say the least.. Even the dealership found this to be wrong but as the staff say this is Ford SA. Nothing to be done. So much for customer service.
