Ford Ranger engine replaced after 9 000km's

In February this year I bought a new Ford Ranger from Basil Green Edenvale. After only 9000 km's, and 3 months later, the engine had to be replaced. I requested Basil Green to replace my vehicle, since a factory defect was the cause of the problem. Replacing the engine means the vehicle has to be re-registered and depreciates the value of the vehicle. and I bought a new vehicle, and only had it for 3 months.<br> <br> I have been referred back and forth between Ford SA and the dealership. According the Ford SA the principal dealer has to write a motivation to replace the vehicle, but even then there is no guarantee that the request will be approved. Ford SA advised me to get legal advice (more costs). The dealership offered me R 140 000 for my brand new vehicle (my settlement amount is R 235 000). This leaves me with a R 91 000 difference for a vehicle I don't have.
