Unsafe microwave and refund refusal
I had two terrible experiences with Bash. Will never buy from them again.
First instance was a defy mirror microwave. The microwave was faulty from the start nit exploded food on the default setting, the base plate jerked, and it has a scratch on the mirror surface. I requested a return. They said they don’t do collections, even though they were able to deliver to me. So I had to go into the store. When I requested a refund they advised they only did refunds on unused products in their original packaging. Ridiculous, as the microwave has to be used to find out that is explodes all foods and beverages and is unsafe to use. I fought them on it for over a month and eventually after reciting CPA basis for refunds, and threatening legal action, did they say they could refund. Next they said they could only refund to a gift card. I bought the microwave on account, and insisted they refund me to the account as I was not going to pay interest on a purchase that was refunded. After fighting them on this aspect for a week, they refunded to my account.

20 Apr 2024, 11:01The second instance was Egyptian cotton fitted sheets, that came directly from them in the brand new packaging with DUST MITES. Never in my 35 years of purchasing linen have I ever received insect ridden linen. And when I complained they said, that it is standard practice to wash linen before use.
That’s a totally unacceptable answer to my complaint. The sheets should never be stored in a space where there are dust mites. What kind of operation do you run, that dust mites are in your products. That’s disgusting.
If linen needed to be washed before use, then you should include that on the packaging, with a warning that dust mites might be included as an extra unexpected gift.
I have a mattress that costs R180000, and dust mites from linen that should be of high quality and clean, are certainly not acceptable, as once they are in a mattress, that mattress has to get thrown out.
I will not ever purchase from BASH ever again. I will only buy in store, or at a competitor online, where I know these issues will not be experienced.
