Second hand products sold as new

I ordered a smart watch that was only available online according to the BASH app. Upon receiving my package, I broke the seal to reveal a box that was broken, sellotaped closed and the seals of the box were tampered with. The sticker that belongs on the face of a brand new watch is laying inside the box seperate to the actual watch. I took pictures immediately then logged a complaint. This screams a return that was repurposed to me in the hopes I don't notice the bad customer service. After logging a complaint I get offered a refund because they don't offer exchanges via courier. I want a new watch, but how do I know thwy won't do this again?
