account still not closed

on the 14 september i went to close my account is the foschini store in rosebank, when the gentleman called the head office to close it they told him that i must wait till the 12 October in oder to close my account. today it's the 13 october and my account is still not closed. i don't understand why i must wait a whole month to close the account but it's pathetic how tfg works
