My husband and I entered into an agreement with Barry Opperman Construction to erect a structure at our home. We paid him in cash (which he requested be deposited into his wife's account with Capitec Bank ino E Opperman - as opposed to a business account which probably doesn't exist to begin with. We also made various additional cash payments and paid additional funds into the account of E Opperman. He has not completed the Building work as agreed and is avoiding all contact with my husband and I. He doesn't take our telephone calls, he doesn't respond to e mails or text messages and has barred both our cellphone numbers from his telephone. After having discussed this matter with friends - it has now come to light that we are not the only or first couple that he has ********** financially.
