Barrique Restaurant Stellenbosch

25/04/2021: Restaurant Barrique: As I wanted to give my friend on her Birthday a special treat, and she mentioned that she has been to BARRIQUE before. Our waitress was Valerie. She was friendly but seemed not very knowledegable as she misunderstood our orders. We requested a variety of each starter on 1 plate, out of the 3 different starters, and asked Val whether this will be possible. She said YES. We assumed this is how it would be served, BUT according to the Invoice, we were charged R70,-- for each starter! I had Hake, asked for it to be grilled. The Hake had a very strong "fishy" taste, and tasted old and stale. I informed Valerie and requested that she tell the kitchen staff. She said YES, and left the uneaten food on the table. On receiving the bill, which included the unedible fish, I asked Val, whether she had informed the Chef. There was no comment from her. I was shocked at receiving the bill including the unedible meal. I just felt it was necessary to bring this to the attention.
