Volkswagen Polo 8

On the 13 February 2018, I bought a VW Polo 2018 model. In March 2018 while on a trip to Durban we noticed a knocking noise which appeared to be emanating from the engine. Upon return to Johannesburg, I returned the vehicle to the branch and I was advised that it was a "minor issue". A month passed and the vehicle was returned and the noise disappeared. The noise reappeared in June 2018 and I once more returned the vehicle to the branch. The vehicle was inspected by the service department who reported that there was no issue with the vehicle. The vehicle technician and I took the vehicle for a test drive, and he confirmed that the vehicle was still making a noise and agreed that there was something wrong with the vehicle, and further stated that the branch would attend to it. After a week of no answers and meeting with the dealer principal, it was decided that the vehicle would be stripped. The subsequent response by the branch was that the noise in question is a "characteristic of the vehicle" and that there is nothing further they can do. There is no mention of the "characteristic" in the contract signed nor was this characteristic imp**** when I first bought the vehicle. I have since received no help from VW, despite taking the vehicle to two different branches and I was given the same answer. I explained in accordance with legal help that VW is in breach of section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act. I have also lodged a complaint with the ombudsman and have since received no feedback. I am really disappointed as I have barely driven my car due to it being in VW most of time and also due to the fact that I feel unsafe. I have paid for the car monthly but cannot even drive it due to fears of safety for my and children. VW has offered no help and have been of no assistance.
