They were going to rip me off

<p>Public beware and ask questions so you don't get **********. This was the letter i sent to Barons Culemborg after the last experience I had. </p> <p> </p> <p>I need to report a situation that occurred at your branch and for which i am disturbed by. I am a customer of yours for many years, and have always found your service very efficient and smooth.</p> <p>As most people that bring their cars in for servicing I don't have a mechanics knowledge on cars (which most people don't), so each time I bring my car I am trusting your integrity in stating to me any issues or parts that need replacing, and that you won't overcharge me.</p> <p>This morning I brought my VW Polo in for repairs because it was misfiring. I was given a quote of nearly R8,000.00. I was surprised at this cost as my car is regularly serviced by you, nevertheless, i thought if it's necessary then I will need to have it done. I'm glad I first checked with my father who has always been in the car industry - he said it sounded excessive and that I should take it elsewhere for another quote. I then took my car to a service centre that's authorized to service VW. While I was WAITING, they looked at my car, replaced the lead, and charged me NOTHING! I even questioned the mechanic regarding the parts that your centre said needed replacing and he assured me they did NOT need replacing. My car is now running perfectly! I was so relieved but at the same time so appalled at the fact that i nearly got ****** by your service centre. The fact that you feel nothing to just throw together a quote, quoting for unnecessary items at an excessive labour cost taking advantage of people, that you deem wouldn't know any better, is seriously disturbing.</p> <p>When someone brings their car to you, they trust that you will with all integrity fix the car in the least expensive way possible without compromising standards. Unfortunately, after this i would not be able to trust your integrity as this is a case of near ****************. I thought to write to you that hopefully you can do something about it, and not continue to take advantage of people in the future.</p>
