Inempt Staff

So on the 15th June 2016, I bought a brand new out of the box VW 1.2 Polo TSI. I was helped along by a brilliant sales person Melanie. She was amazing and helped me with all my pre and post queries. My sales process was great; however things seemed to go haywire after sale when other staff became involved. My right rear headlight traps water whenever it rains or have the car washed. This then creates the light to fog up due to the water evaporation that takes place when its hot. I contacted Melanie who speedily arranged for me to bring in the car and have it looked at. Some guy from the parts department assessed the situation and advised that the light was not fitted properly and is “loose”. He then “refitted” it, which basically means he ***** a bolt tight. As to why a brand new car would have bolts loose is beyond me. He said that he doubts the problem will persist however if it does, then I should contact them again to have the light resealed or refitted. A week later I washed the car and saw the problem still exists. I immediately contact Melanie who then escalated the matter to Ingrid whom I believe is the parts manager. Two weeks passed and Ingrid did not contacted me. I inform Melanie of this and Ingrid phones me eventually. She advised she was so busy she couldn’t contact me sooner. This just demonstrated poor management and customer relations s****s. I explained to Ingrid what the situation was who then apologised profusely. I informed Ingrid I do not want the light to be resealed; I want a NEW light as I bought a NEW car. When you buy a new car everything should be in working order shouldn’t it? Ingrid asked if I can bring the car in that Friday. I advised due to work we have two options. I can bring it in before work which means VW will have to drop and pick me up from work, or I will have to bring the car in after work which is after 2pm. Ingrid said she will speak to the guys in the department to find out how long the job will take and which option would work best for bringing in the car. She said she will call me back the same day. Three weeks later and I am still waiting on that call.

This is so ridiculous. The sales process was so great then after I signed the papers I was treated as if my business meant nothing. I have always been a proud VW supporter, however this experience has left me disgusted and ashamed of the VW brand. I think the HR department should step in and give their staff some customer relations training.

I would like to hear from VW and resolve this matter……………

No regards whatsoever

M.
