Horrific service: VW Barons Cape Town and VW SA
Early last month we received a Whatsapp message from VW SA advising that our Polo Vivo was recalled due to a possible fault with the airbag. We immediately contacted VW Barons Cape Town who took our information and advised that it would take 2 weeks for the spares to arrive and they'd contact us once they arrived . When we hadn't heard from VW Barons CT at the 2 week period we phoned them again and were advised that the delay was due to VW SA not having the spares. We emailed VW SA and copied the branch manager of VW Barons CT in advising of our dissatisfaction of this delay as, per their website it is potentially dangerous to be driving the vehicle. We never received a response from either VW SA or VW Barons to either our first or a subsequent email and it was only when we sent a third email where I advised that we were going to escalate our concerns to VW Germany that we were contacted by VW SA. After much back and forth we were advised that the spare would arrive this week at the latest. Today we got an email from VW SA advising that they had contacted VW Barons CT who advised them that the vehicle had been attended to. I don't know how as VW Barons hasn't contacted us and we are still driving around in a potentially dangerous vehicle. We will never buy another VW, least of all from Barons, if they're happy to lie so blatantly.
