Fool me Once - Shame on you, Fool me Twice - shame on me!

<p>Ive used Barons Bruma for my two last services, namely my 75000km and 90000km services. </p> <p> </p> <p>The first one was approximately one year ago (2015) and then i have my 90k service in July 2016. I used them simply because they are close to where i work.</p> <p> </p> <p>when i used them in 2015, i had to bring my car back the next day after the service... why? because my car was now leaking oil, something it had NEVER done prior to getting "serviced". I complained, they fixed it free of charge.</p> <p> </p> <p>i then used them this July 2016, here is my experience:</p> <p>* Took my car in the morning</p> <p>*told them upfront i was only bringing it in for a service and nothing extra</p> <p>*they telephonically quoted me R2600.00</p> <p>*the day i brought it in, the lady said it would be approx 2900.00 (this is R300 more without having even LOOKED at my car) - i tell her this, to which she responds "Ill get a good price for you, dont worry".</p> <p>*I get ba call later that afternoon, to tell me that the srvice is done, BUT they have picked up three issues over and above the service ... i say, i cant afford to fix now, but tell me anyways.</p> <p>*She tells me that my brakes are done, i also need brake fluid and that my V belt (alternator belt) is ready to be chnaged</p> <p>*i go and pick up my car, and as she walks me to my car, i am told "you must get your brakes fixed as SOON as possible if you drive to fast and you behind a truck, you could go into it, its very imperative you change those, as they are done".</p> <p>*to question her, i ask, how much would the brake pads be and brake fluid? Brake pads and install = R1500.00 and brake fluid R780.00</p> <p>*i tell her that i will come back to her when i have cash, she says to me "bring your car this sat, dont go and do it anywhere else"</p> <p> </p> <p>As i left VW, i could not help but feel a need to corroborate what i was told... and therefore drove to a family mechanic to have a second look</p> <p> </p> <p>Upon his inspection, the folloiwng came to light:</p> <p>1) my brake pads were not even HALF way through their lifespan</p> <p>2) i did not need ANY brake fluid</p> <p>3)my V belt was in PERFECT order, seeing as they can andf should do up to 350 ********** 00km and my car had only done 90000km....</p> <p> </p> <p>I cant help but feel ********** and then i still had to be "grateful" for having paid R2600.00 for my service, because she had made a "plan:" for me. </p> <p> </p> <p>I cant even be sure my car was serviced, i smelt a rat the first time, but had to get my fingers burnt TWICE to know i will never use them again. </p> <p> </p>
