Dealer car service nearly cost me the whole car engine ( Barons Bruma)

I did book my vw caddy crew bus for a 75000 km service at Barons Bruma and then decided not to send it there after discovering that on a previous service my car was 3 liters of oil short which nearly cost me the whole engine. I honestly thought of keeping it to myself but what if it has blown the engine? who
