Certainly not going back. May as well do the service myself. Needs new management.
Purchased a demo vehicle from Barons Woodmead (October 2017). A GTD no less. Complained about a rattling in the doors and the ceiling light console. Carpet pulling away from the driver footwell's beading. Car held back for a day to sort out the problems. Car delivered with the same problems in existence. (November 2017) Spoke to service manager, Tony Da Silva. He gave me solutions that they would roll out when I bring the car in. Took the vehicle in for 15KM service today (31-01-2018). Had the same complaints, along with 1 other, breaks not effective. In a high speed chase to rescue my niece after being stabbed by a crazy person, my breaks glazed. Meaning that when you drive the car fast, you could stop faster with slip slops on ice. Explained these problems to the good gent who registers the cars as they come in and showed him what the problems were. Obviously I could not demonstrate the brakes as this would have endangered the floor staff's lives. But the rattles which can be heard at their own frequency were quite evident. Car taken for the day and returned. Whoever took the car for a test drive clearly needs to take the earplugs out because the rattles will show a reading on the Db meter. They have existed since before I owned the car, how is it that they are the only ones that could not hear it? Rattles investigated, dismissed as non-existent. While I am glad they did not drive my car at the speeds it took to create the braking problem, the problem should have been treated as a real one...these are the breaks I use to stop my vehicle in the case of emergencies and in normal driving. I do not have confidence that my breaks are going to do what they need to do if I happen to need to put them through their paces again. I cannot be sure how well the oil change went down without having to have the oil tested, however if the other requests I had required for my vehicle was anything to go by, doubt is the best word I can use to describe my state of confidence. During my car's visit to the dealership, it was examined by Star Breaks Windscreen Repairs, who have enabled Barons Woodmead to provide a "value added service" to their clientele. I received a call from them, telling me that they noticed a stone chip that they would like to fix for me to stop the damage from running. Since this used to be my livelihood, I know what damage, if any, exists on my windscreen. I also know what damage needs to be repaired. For the second time, on my second vehicle I have had serviced by Barons Woodmead, I have had irreparable, superficial damage to my windscreen. Meaning a scratch on the top layer of glass. A noticeable dot that has no underlying markings. The first time, a year ago, I let everyone know at both Barons and Star Breaks that they are offering a service that was not necessary. This time I spoke to the service manager at Barons who says that this is a value added service and because it does not work for me, doesn't mean it won't work for other clients. My argument is that VW clients are being offered a service for something they do not need a service for and therefore are being **********. How would Joe Soap know that these people are offering them an illegitimate service? How would Joe Soap know that the damage will in fact not spread? A service is only a value added service, if it adds value. Let's have another company go in there and offer the same service where they actually need the service. Repairs are a necessary evil and do in fact save thousands of hard earned bucks, but offer them where they are needed, not just to make a quick one. After attempting to explain myself for the umpteenth time, I gave up with the notion that Barons Woodmead is in desperate need of new management. Barons Woodmead has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth and a disgruntled demeanour. If word of mouth is your worst enemy as a business, you sure have not picked your friends wisely. Unless forced to return, I will repay your service with my feet - or lack thereof. I will do my best to spread the word.
