Don't go to Barons Tokai

I have always driven Golfs and my cars have been serviced by Barons Tokai for many years - but I will never return to this garage. They are dishonest and their customer service is shocking. We were away in Robertson when the engine light on my Golf came on. We stopped and checked the manual and the manual said the issue wasn't urgent. We drove cautiously for the rest of the weekend and took it into Barons as soon as we were back in Cape Town. We received the assessment the following day - the turbo (which was replaced 3 years ago) needed to be replaced at a cost of more than R30,000.00. They said the car was safe to drive so we decided to take it to another mechanic for a second opinion - there is nothing wrong with the turbo!
